Organic Henna Description

  • Organic Henna is probably the most famous dye plant; not only use for dyeing hair, but henna also serves as a treatment for hair.
  • It revitalizes and gives shine, strengthens, and thickens the hair fibre, and reduces frizz.
  • Henna gives notes that tend towards intense copper, but the shades obtained will differ depending on your hair’s natural colour.
  • It is recommended for all hair colours.

Different Types of Organic Henna

1. Dark red henna

  • The dark red henna powder will give a more frank colouring on blond, red, white, or grey.
  • It gives different shades depending on the natural colour of your hair.

2. Black henna

  • It is suitable for hair of all colours.
  • The black henna powder will give a more frank colouring on brown, chestnut, blond, white, or grey hair.

3. Brown henna

  • The brown henna powder will give a more frank colouring on brown, chestnut, blond, white, or grey hair.

How to know whether Henna suits you?

  • For a fixing effect, you must first apply natural henna to let stand for 3 hours.
  • Once rinsed, apply the desired colour to your hair at about the same time.
  • Admittedly, it’s a bit long, but you will tell us the news! In terms of the dye, avoid red or auburn henna to not end up in carrot red.

How to prepare Organic Henna?

  • Here is my recipe for a very pronounced auburn.


  • Organic Henna
  • Old vinegar
  • Agave syrup
  • Cinnamon powder


  • A glass of hot water with an infusion of red fruits.
  • I start by pouring the henna powder into a plastic container: I use 50 grams (half of a sachet).
  • Then I add the juice of half a lemon and some old wine vinegar until it makes a fairly compact paste, very, very thick.
  • I put a large amount of agave syrup (four tablespoons), and I add little by little, the hot water infused with the berry tea, until the dough has a nice texture, smooth and without lumps.
  • I add a teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
  • Then I mix one last time, I adjust the dough’s texture if necessary: and voila!
  • I let the henna sit in the fridge so that the pigments develop.

How to apply henna properly?

  • Depending on the result you want for your hair, you must mix the henna powder with the other colouring powders.
  • Adding lemon juice or an acidic product is quite controversial and has different effects on different people.
  • It is better to test without, even if it means doing a second colouring later with lemon juice!
  • Then mix them in hot (but not boiling) water so that the henna retains its colouring properties.
  • In terms of dosage, you can start at 100g of henna, 300ml of hot water.
  • Add the warm water a little at a time to make sure you get the right texture.
  • Then apply the paste to your dry, damp, or pre-wet hair.
  • Be careful to protect your hands (gloves) and your face (lubricate with a little oil) so that the colour does not permeate!
